Another weekend of prep

We haven't been to the boat for a couple of weeks.  We have had some busy weekends.  We deicided that since we had a free weekend we would go rain of shine. It started of raining on Saturday but I had confidence that the sun would come out in the afternoon.  It didn't disapoint me.  It was a beautiful evening but I didn't have my camera with me.  We did get new carpet in the boat. We had friends down and had some fresh bacon wraped shrimp.  We ate most of the 5lbs we bought at the dock.  It is wonderful to be in a marina that has fresh catch on the dock like that.

Sumday was a day to sleep in but we woke to a sunny morning.  I enjoyed the sun while Dana worked changing the oil in the engines and tranny.  He is glad that is out of the way for another year.  We now believe that the boat is ready for the summer.

Sunday night brought another wonderful sunset.  This time I had my camera and got some wonderful pictures.

We had a visitor that got a nice snack from Dana and the neighbors daughter.

First Nice Weekend

We spent the second weekend on the boat. It was truly the first warm sunny day. We went down Saturday to get the boat ready for friends. We ran the engines and they ran great. No adjustments need this time. Dana spent time washing the boat. Boy did it need it. I took advantage of having my work done last time we were down and after doing a little cleaning I sat in the sun to supervise the washing.
We had wonderful friends come down Saturday afternoon. Daniel came down after working hard in the morning.  Micha came down in the late afternoon and just kicked back to enjoy the sun.  Later Johnny and Shelly came down.  Shelly brought her parents motor home to stay over night.  We BBQ steaks on the grill and seven of us sat down in the boat for dinner.  WE enjoyed more time talking but called it an early night.  Before 2am lol.
Sunday was another beautiful day.  The morning was warm and after making coffee we sat on the dock to enjoy the sun. 

We had a later breakfast after waiting for everyone to get up.  Johnny's friend Scotty showed up.  He loves Cruise A Homes and really wanted to see ours.  We gave him a tour and made bloody Marys.  Johnny scolded me for not bringing the picked green beans.  I will have to remember that for next time.

After Micha arrived we decided to take a cruise up to Des Moines for gas.  The wind was a little breezy but the sun and friends made it fun.

Our friends took turns piloting the boat. First Micha, then yes Jack the dog.

Yes we know he couldn't see where he was going. We need to train him to drive with his paws not his nose. Shelly took her turn at the wheel and park the boat in its slip like an she know what she was doing. She was so excited.

All in all it was a good weekend with great friends.

When will it start

I am waiting for the weather to clear to go to the boat. I really don't care if it is warm or cold. I just want the rain to stop for most of a weekend. I plan to keep up with the blog this year so keep checking back. I am planning to take my boaters exam and will post how it goes.
